“What Amy Speace says – what she sings – she says with a confluence of poetry and honesty, of emotional specificity,” The New York Times.

I teach songwriting, performance and voice in person in Nashville and online via Skype  My approach is all about finding a more truer YOU in your writing, singing and performing. The word "authentic" is overused these days, but you know it when you hear it and you certainly know it when you don't. I've worked with artists from beginners to pro's to really target who you are, what you're saying and to get you to "Sing What You Mean/Mean What You Sing".  I borrow techniques I learned from my years training as an actor and a director in performance.  I have over 30 years of my own voice training to draw from to help you find techniques that work for you that center your true voice on the breath and expand your range.  I have taught at Berklee College of Music, The Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Song School, Kerrville Folks Festival Song School, Americana Song Academy and other festivals and camps. I can also offer workshops to your community on Songwriting & Performance, "Getting Unstuck: There Is No Writer's Block" and "Inside The Independent Music Business: Booking & Managing Yourself".  These workshops can be tailored to a few hours to a few days, depending on your needs.
