Amy,
Thanks for writing this piece. As someone who books a small venue capable of holding 80 but often drawing the 15, 20 or 25. I sometimes feel responsible that no matter how hard I try to promote these events or how talented the artist I book are that we can't guarantee a decent turnout. It's frustrating sometimes and makes me question why I'm doing it. It's good to hear that it is appreciated.

@ Neale…and I could have mentioned hot tubs and late night conversations over scotch and purple plates and that a host of a house concert turned into one of my favorite friends to hang with at festivals and conferences and on off nights near Boston and at funky motel bars in Hillsdale, NY with Cliff and Ellis and a bottle of Jim Beam…:)
